Great Ocean Road
Victoria Australia

Yesterday afternoon I was sitting in my gallery in Geelong and was watching the forecast for a very large swell about to hit the Victorian coastline. I decided to close shop early and head down the coast to see the swell myself and try and capture it. Last night was reasonably big but nothing too exciting. The swell built overnight though and was incredibly big and stormy this morning. The sheer power of the waves exploding against the ancient cliffs was so intense you could almost feel the ground shake as they hit the cliffs. There were a couple of hairy moments with the waves coming up onto the clifftop where I was shooting from, having to run a couple of times and got the camera a bit wet too.
